Ceramic tiles must never be subjected to direct contact with concentrated acids, under any condition whatsoever. For cleaning purposes check the resistance recommended by the manufacturer (packing/catalog/internet) for the purchased tile, according to the following guide.
GA: Glazed product resistant to chemicals for domestic use and pool water treatment;
GLA: Glazed product with high resistance to low concentration chemical products (diluted with at lest 20% water)
UA: Non glazed product resistant to chemicals for domestic use.

The test method for determining resistance to chemical attack is described in Annex H in the NBR 13818 technical standard.
