You can, but first you must check the adherence of the old tiles. If they sound hollow when tapped or are coming unstuck it is better to completely remove them.
In the case of perfect adherence, first thoroughly clean the area to remove dirt such as: wax, paint, mold, etc, using a copious amount of water.
The appropriate adhesive mortar for the laying of new tiles over old one must be used.
Always use joints when laying tiles over tiles, even if non rectified. There is an extender on the market for: valves, boxes and door and window stops with lowering to compensate for the height difference.
An inclining door sill can be installed to avoid door steps. |
